A stout inspired by the former Jackie O’s Director of Brewing Operations’ pug, Barley. A loving friend with no shortage of character, Barley is the zenith of exuberance, zeal and joy. After a year of resting in bourbon barrels, Black Mask is infused with coffee beans, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans. A rich beer that is brimming with personality and exhilaration.

Bottle shared at Kermis’ last THT. Almost black with small dark beige head. Bourbon up front, dry spicy notes, vanilla, cocoa powder, roasted malts, dry bready notes. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with quite dry finish. Hmmm, not bad, but not my fave.

At tht. Aroma of milk chocolate, bourbon vanilla, cinnamon, coffee and malt. Taste has spicey cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, hot booze and a dry boozy finish. Good.

375ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee, oak, roasty malts and cocoa. Taste is smooth, slightly sweetish and slick with loads of coffee, bourbon, vanilla, oak, cocoa and roastiness. Finish is smooth and slick with some roastiness, coffee, oak, vanilla, bourbon and cocoa. Quite tasty and balanced.

Lucky Bamboo bottle share. Pours a thick, viscous slightly cloudy brown with a small bit of beige head. Bourbon on the nose with some coffee aromas and fudge brownies. Chewy on the palate with lots of chocolate notes and barrel. Sweet vanilla and coffee notes.
