(bottle) Clear amber colour with a frothy off-white medium, but fast diminishing head. Sweet malty, mazipan and slightly alcoholic nose. Sweet initial malty taste with marzipan, rather unbalanced sweet sugary finish. Not a beer for every day use.

An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is strong alcoholic with slight notes of peaches and grass. The flavor is very sweet, but not as alcoholic, as the aroma made me think, but instead of alcohol, the flavor contains some notes of metal in the aftertaste, and the alcohol makes its presence known by burning slightly in the throat. The flavor also contains some notes of fruits especially peaches.

(Bottle 30 cl) Dark colden, almost copper coloured beer with a pretty much non-existing head. Filtered and extremely potent, with clearly marked alcohol. Way over the top for a rather thin body. Hard one to finish. 100799

Das schmeckt gar nicht mehr feierlich... Es schmeckt abartig medizinisch, der Nachgeschmack zieht sich viel zu lange hin. Absolut untrinkbar! Test vom 29.6.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,4,4,5,8,5 - 5,35

Orange-straw colour, clear; thinnish head, fast gone poorly fed by aged beer-like carbonation. Chalk, alcohol in the nose, bit milky as well; very faint malt and brown sugar-coated ovenapples. Very sharp alcoholic taste, marzipan, going into an uneasy sweet-perfumed-bitter balance. Burning MF, sharp, ending a bit oily. Unbalanced, unrefined beer. If this is a gladiator, those were not only sweaty buggers, but alcoholists as well.

Well i disagree, that it has too much alcohol. I drank a Kasteelbier next to this one, and i thought exactly the other way about this gladiator. This is a bit less lighter beer ( :-) ) then Kasteelbier, but it has more flavor.
