Thanks to Skyview for sharing this one. Dark, cloudy brown appearance. Tons of peat in the aroma and flavor, well as earth and loads of smoke. Salty finish. Not balanced, but upfront with what it has, which is flavors of a peaty, smokey Islay scotch.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark brown with a few tan bubbles. Incredible odor of peat smoke and something sweet. Med plus body. Flavor is like liquid smoke (that’s a liquid you can buy to add smoke flavoring to meat or beans). There’s some light chocolate, and burnt malt, and a hint of heat. Finishes very like single malt. Or at least that’s my brain on some very tasty ale.

Bottle, 8.5%. Very smoked aroma, some burnt plastic and salami. Not entirely pleasant. Black colour. Small stable brown head. The flavour is sweet and very roasted with a distinct alcohol mouthfeel. There is also be some hop burn, hard to tell from alcohol in this beer, but gives it a refreshing touch. Then comes a serious smoky note. Overwhelming at first, but becomes more subdued after some sips. Very flavourful and interesting, but I am not sure I like the smoke so much in this beer. And I do like peaty whisky. Still a great beer, though.

@Rudolph Throwdown-thanks to Blazer06-500ml bottle-pours a light brown ring for a head and black color. Aroma is peat-dark malt, iodine, scotch. Taste is peat-dark malt, iodine, scotch, some earthy hops bite. Occasional.

clear black, smooth brown head 3 peat smoked whiskey flavor, roasted grains , brown sugar. 7 flavor is licorice, smoke, flowery or sour note from smoke, roasted grains. Reminds me of limfjordsporter. Also some toffee.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is whiskey, heather, malt. Flavour is whiskey, heather, oak, coffee, spices. Too much influence of islay in my opinion but still a good one.

Bottle 500ml. @ home. [ Batch #428 ]. Clear dark brown black color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, smoke - peat - wood - islay. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, peat, wood, smoke, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily - light sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100526]

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin lazing tan head. The aroma has strong notes of wood, islay whiskey, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of iodine, islay whiskey, wood, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted woody and iodine finish.

50 cL bottle, courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is chemical, paint and smoked. Chemical and dark plastic smoked flavoured. Dark plastic. iod and dark malty. Not my thing.
