Guava Grove Farmhouse Ale

Bottle with thanks to mcbackus. Pours a massive head of dense bubbles with a little bit of an orange liquid at the bottom of the glass. Fruity aromas hit the nose from distance and closer inspection reveals a bit of sourness (like sour grapes). The head has receded about an inch, so I pour in some more liquid and the head shoots back up to the rim... this one is definitely a live wire. First sip reveals a lot of brett-like barnyard sourness with a touch of grass and fruit, but I’m not quite sure if I would pin the fruitiness as \"guava\" based. It seems to be more like lemon peels or something. The texture is nice enough... kind of smooth and light, but there are moments as it slides across the palate that it seems a bit watery and washed out. Then the bretty aftertaste kicks in and it’s all lemons and farm animals again.

Growler thanks to JohnC. Pours a hazy golden body with a small white fizz. Aroma of guava, wheat, slight sourness, belgian yeast and soda water. Taste is wheat, grass, guava, a bit sour, funky and astringent. Light bubbles. As much as I like Guava, this beer didn’t work for me.

Draft at Redlight. Very cloudy orangey-yellow color, near opaque. Aroma was very fruity, citrus and peach, with a tart doughy element. Flavor is peachy, a little apple, with a nice fresh doughy yeastiness. Tangy and a little tart. Fun beer. For fun we mixed some with Ommegang Rouge and it rocked.

Pours clear gold with copper core and white head. The aroma is full of wheat notes and fruity guava goodness. The taste is very nice with a pulse of guava fruit that fades away into the finish. On the non fruit side of the flavor wheat takes hold right away and slowly gives some ground to the roasted and nutty sensation. Great flavors creating a very sessionable brew.
