330ml bottle @Bir&Fud bottega (Rome). Color tonaca di frate, schiuma avorio media. Al naso note di frutta secca ed esteri, mou, nocciola, zucchero di canna. In bocca è dolce, un po' inconsistente, con chiusura appena amarognola. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Fiacca, alla lunga stanca.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown with red chinks, off white lively head. Nose - dried fruit, such as fig. Also, red fruits. Brown sugar and nuts. Tangy caramel. Taste - more of the tangy red fruit and dried fruit. Nuts and caramel again. Palate - medium bodied, tangy middle and finish. Sweet but tangy. Overall - good.

On tap at the Bar Bernard. Very dark brown colour lasting beige head. Plums plump raisins aroma.Malty but good balancing fruit. Fruit has a juicy slight sour to balance the fruit cake like malt. Good dark beer. Love the fruit.

Bottle (marked 11/7/21) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is clear, dark brown (ruby red with light source directly behind) with tons of sparkle, finger-width crackling beige head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma is clean champagne/white wine yeast, very mild raisin, and caramel after sitting for a bit. Taste is subtle champagne/white wine, raisin, caramel (the latter two again more noticeable after sitting for a couple of minutes). Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with strong frothy texture that dominates the taste/mouthfeel experience, average-to-lively carbonation, mild alcohol warmth and crisp, dry finish as taste. Overall, I was so excited after such a gorgeous look that this was going to be something really special but honestly this was pretty weak in the aroma and taste and the frothy carbonation detracts from the whole experience. Disappointing to say the least. LET IT SIT AFTER POURING!

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very dark chestnut brown colour with a medium sized throthy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses, bubblegum, bread and brown sugar. Taste has all the notes from the aroma with some added plums, toasty and spicy notes. Also small hints of apples and tea leaves. Medium bodied with a smooth slick slightly oily mouthfeel. Fairly high carbonation. Slightly fizzy palate. Not overly sweet. There is an underlying earthy hop bitterness. Beautifully balanced. Lovely long lasting fruity finish. Lovely Dubbel.
