Pours very dark brown. Dense tan head. Very high intensity of aromas: plantain, espresso, cocoa, liquorice, tobacco, soy sauce, prunes. Mouth is silky, dense and thick. Taste is sheer bitter with a nice sweet touch. Aftertaste is coffee and ripe tomato. Excellent.

Alphabet city beer company, NYC tap: pours black with no head. Aroma is fruity and loads of fresh medium roast coffee. Taste is sweet. Low carbonation. Lingering aftertaste. Not bad.

Bottle at Pedale, Madrid, may 2013, lot 219, bb 29-3-2014
Black color, medium sized brownish head. Very nice nice aroma, roasted malt, vinous, a bit creamy. Smooth mouthfeel; soft roasted malts, with some vanilla and quite some liquorice; some leather too; correct bitterness. Just a bit too much liquorice for me, but very good.

Tap at The Jeffrey coming in from rain felt like a stout despite the heat. Pours dark brown with pretty head. Nose of dark malt and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate cake, licorice, malt, cherry and plum, and caramel. Not too sweet with alcohol warming. Nice sipper

Bottle @ Borefts ’13 thx to Countbeer. Almost black colour with a small light brown head. Smells some iron, roasty, chocolate and sweet. Tastes liquorice, roasty, coffee and a bit salty (because of the liquorice). Medium to full body, low carbo. Not a fan of the liquorice taste, but it’s a nice brew.

Bottle at BBF’13, thanks Kamiel. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is creamy, milky, oak, light bourbon, chocolate, hard roasted malts. Flavour is quite sweet, sugary, metallic, coffee and cream, hard roasted malts, metallic bitter finish. Medium-bodied at best. Taste was a bit of a let-down after the nice aroma.
