Cask, half pint at Goat Tavern, London. Clear deep amber color with thin creamy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, bread and grassy and floral hops. Taste starts with light sweet caramel and toffee, follows by bready notes and mild fruity acidity and light bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Smooth and drinkable...

Nutty toffee malt and hay aroma. Chestnut brown with minimal head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Good body. Nice, solid bitter.

In cask @ Heathrow Terminal 5. Great smooth beginning. Hints of nuts and malty ale. Round and refreshing, not much bitterness, round, dry with caramel and nuts and a nice bitter ale finish!

A really nice and pleasant session ale. Tasty and easy to drink. Amber color with a thick off white head. Toffee, hoppy and fruity aroma. Lots of caramel in the flavor. Also nice fruity and hoppy.

Famed eastern English bitter with a somewhat hazy copper colour, thin but dense creamy head and fruity aroma (lots of apple) with a sulphuric accent, some peat, caramel and dough. Supple palate with nice fruitiness and hoppy bitter finish, very well balanced between fruitiness and hoppiness, as any good bitter should be. Deservedly a classic.
