Corked bottle. Amber color. Port and only the slightest hint of oak in the aroma. Vinous, slightly alcoholic flavor with port, marzipan and, again, just the slightest hint of oak. Malty sweet, but the barrel ageing gives the necessary depth.

Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Slightly hazy, dark brownish amber with a beige head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey, vanilla and some oak. Moderately sweet, malty taste of caramel, vanilla, some honey and oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, moderately warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

22/XII/15 - 37.5cl bottle from Geers, Hopduvel or the monastery shop @ Tim's Amazing La Trappe Oak Aged Series Batch 2 Through 13 Tasting - BB: n/a, blended: 17/IX/2010 (2015-1755)

Note: after hoarding the oldest of these beers for over 5 years, I decided to crack down on them, before they disintegrate.
Clear amber beer, small creamy beige to yellow irregular head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, oxidation, sweet, honey, bit floral. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: much sweeter, lots of honey, some caramel. Aftertaste: sweet malts, honey, caramel, sugary, some alcohol, very sweet.
