Tap, 15 years old, Café 't Pleintje Hengelo. Orange brown color, cloudy. Raspberry and lemon aroma and flavor. Mushy, dusty and earthy, but still fresh and full of life with a somewhat dirty lasting head. Well rounded sourness and some sweetness. Mushy raspberry finish that lingers on and on and on. A hour after I finished the drink I still tasted raspberries. What a brilliant beer after all these years!!

Bottle - Vintage 1987 - Sweet and mellow jammy strawberry. Clear Amber with a small white head. Sweet syrupy cooked strawberry. This old vintage has taken the sweetness and mellowed it out with a really nice cooked fruit notes.

Well-balanced ’compromis’ framboise with both commercial sweetness and subtle lambic-like funkiness, true raspberry taste as well as sugar. Tasted many years ago from tap at Botteltje in Ostend. Too bad Eylenbosch of Schepdaal went the way of the dodo in 1991, every lambic brewery disappearing is a loss for Belgian beer culture.

Bottle at Kulminator. Clear deep reddish brown liquid with a small white head. Aroma of cardboard, bread, cinnamon, raspberries and lemon’. Taste is light sweet and light sour with notes of raspberries, cinnamon and bread. Medium bodied with very low carbonation. Still nice, probably a great beer once.

1987 Vintage. 330mL bottle, pours a clear bronze amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out faded raspberries, funk, and cardboard. Flavour is very soft, with sweet raspberries, followed by only a touch of funk and maybe a hint of oxidation. The raspberries are surprisingly front and centre, with not a whole lot of funk or even oxidation. Carbonation is very soft, almost flat. This has stood up well. Very good stuff.
