Can from Beer52. Black pour with small beige to tanned head. Aroma of dark malt, blackberries, cocoa, hint of liquorice but more veers towards leafy and spicy at times. Taste has a dry roastiness but then you get dark fruits, creamy sweet toffees, ash and leafy hop. Medium bodied, somewhere between creamy an sticky on the palate. Very nice. Brewery #1002

Can from Beer 52 – drank at home. Pours almost black with a small foamy beige head. Aroma has roasted malts and some chocolate. In the mouth it starts off sweet with a creamy texture, but some underlying bitterness. Flavour has chocolate (bitter) and dark fruits (sweet). Some hints of vanilla, herbs and spices come through later. Finish is somewhat dry and a bit sticky – the alcohol comes through at last as well. This is oretty good – hides it’s strength well.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A coal black pour a fast fading tan head leaving a thin rim; aroma of blackberry and well roasted grains; strong taste of blackberry and bitter chocolate, with a smooth milky body; then some bitter, almost burnt grains adding depth. An excellent stout.

Roasted malty front, some smoothness in the body depth, cocoa, hints of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and a light spicy twist.

Bottle conditioned. Almost black and opague. Malty aroma with licorice, chocolate and a pinch of salt. Malty, salty flavor with dark chocolate and licorice. Low on carbon, medium bodied. Quite a tasty brew, Eddie Gadd knows his job.
