Produced with yeast that gives the typical spicy aroma, with hints of fresh pepper and floral notes of elderberry and linden. On the palate, vegetable and balsamic notes stand out, given by hops, reminiscent of licorice root.

Draught Huge, very fine & dense yellowish head over hazy yellow beer, textbook lace. Fresh, herbal - if a tad agressive - hops, quite some ureum, pale malts. Short sweetness followed by a very herbal-weedy hopflavour. Again agressive, if short of astringency. Even if the agressive MF dwindles after a bit of settling, it still is not clean enough. Light to medium bodied, quite slick. Schigi, go drink a Dupont Légère, add some ironoxide, and try again.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Italian Beer Festival ’12. Dorée/orangée brumeuse, col épais et crémeux blanc. Arôme, on note ici un profile nettement plus belge, surtout en comparaison à la Tainted Love. Un beau bouquet fruité et d’agrumes citronné. En bouche, profile épais grains dans le style saison, le tout est accompagné d’un savoureux profile houblonné et citronné avec un côté levure bien présent.

Bottle courtesy of Larsniclas shared at tasting. Pours reddish golden with a frothy white head that slowly dissipates while clinging to the glass and leaving some trace. Smell is sweet and tiny stale with caramel, freshly cut grass, bread, lemon zest, mandarin oranges and hints of dusty barnyard. Taste is sweet and fruity with plums, lemon zest, lemon juice, bread and orange juice. Mouthfeel is tiny tart, tiny sour and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, tiny bitter and tiny dry with green grapes and yeasty bread.

Bottle from Johnnies off license. Fruity, bready nose, warm malts, with lemon, as well as apple and peach. A bit of grassy hops. Deep, dark gold with a fine head and lots of bubbles. Rich malty flavor, but with good lemon and herbal hops. Bready malts, peppery, very dry finish. Slightly too sweet, but very tasty and good, with good balance as well. Rich, thick body. A bit of honey as well. Bitterness is subtle but long-lasting. Another excellent Belgian style from Extraomnes!

Bottle @ Miss January / AA Meeting Afterparty Tasting, March 2012. Pours cloudy golden with small white head. Yeast and fruit. A bit of banana and alcohol. Quite straight. A bit of pepper. Full bodied.

24/11/2011 La Tana (tap). Dorata, appena spenta, schiuma biancastra abbondante e molto persistente. Aroma non molto intenso ma straordinariamente armonioso, lieviti bene in evidenza, un bel carattere speziato, un bell’agrumato, resina con note erbacee. In bocca è straordinaria, tiene testa benissimo alle migliori saison, bilanciata in modo magistrale, gustosa, freschissima, con un amaro finale lungo e persistente. Gran bel corpo, carbonazione corretta. Schigi dà il meglio di sé. Saison eccezionale.

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Pours heavy orange tinged gold with a creamy white head. Aromas kof sour orange and yeast/spice. Med body. Pronounced barnyard flavor. There’s also citrus, spice and a lot of herby hop. But the barnyard is very strong. Finish seems on the sour side. Very good.
