Draft @ Moeder Lambic Italian Beer Festival ’12.

25 cl. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas // Italian Beer Festival // I have no idea what happened here with either the ratings or my pallet // usually there is some correlation with my ratings and the ones on here but this was delicious, way better than the rating here would suggest // (a) apricot amber, big fluffy, snow white head // (s) light, fruity, fruity yeast, flowers, touch grains // (t) sweeter side spicy yeast, fruity, peach, flowers, nicely sweet (definitely not too much) finish, crumble pie crust, honey, flowers, sweet herbs, zesty fruits, sweet nuts (chestnuts I suppose, good it is not overt, not of a fan of chestnuts) // (b) lovely, easy going, smooth // I liked it // Belgian Ale ?

29/10/2011 75cl bottle @ hotel room, from Gradi Plato, Rome - BB: 28/7/12 (2011-591)

Cloudy deep orange to amber beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, nice lacing, adhesive. Aroma: upon opening a quite a bit of cork (from wine bottles), woody, then sweetness kicks in in the form of caramel and honey. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit dusty, citrus fruits, wood, rotten fruits, bitter hops, caramel, bitter chocolate. Aftertaste: bitter almonds, some sweet peaches. Couldn't exactly detect the chestnut, even though I tried. Maybe I just don't know what chestnuts taste like. :p

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Pours slightly ruddy hazy amber with a creamy beige head. Light aroma of malt, herb and something strange. Med bodey. Flavor is fruity and herby with something strange - which apparently is chestnut. Not very bitter, but quite pleasant.
