After brewing 2000 batches, we’re taking some time to just us hang out, lounge, tell some Dad jokes, and sip on some Smoked English-style Brown Porter. It’s medium bodied and soft with a little caramel sweetness and a kiss of smoke – load up the wood stove, open the dart board, chalk up the cues for Bumper Pool, because we’re headed down to the Rumpus Room.

On tap at Union, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out moderate smoke, toasted caramel and bready malt. Flavour is robust, with smoked malt, toasted caramel and bready malt. Fairly smoky but quite gentle. Decent.

Draft at source. Great lacing and longevity of head. Aroma is clean malty raisin. Kind of gritty earthy malt. Flavor is mild and not smoked at all. Just like a slightly bigger brown. Decent but not smoked.
