Brewed with 17 lbs. of yams per barrel (in other words, a lot of yams!), this autumn seasonal is a different take on the “pumpkin” beer style. Brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, molasses, and maple syrup. Rather than ferment the beer with our traditional Belgian yeast strain, this version was 100% fermented with brettanomyces, adding a dry, earthy quality to the traditionally bold and spicy beer.

Bottled. Brownish pour. Pretty syrupy with a bit of maltiness. Some sourness and spice. OK

Hazy, murky, brown pour, small off white head. Big sweet malt aroa, lots of sweet ripe fruit. Raisins, plums, and lots of spices. Nice mouthfeel, very low carb. Sweet aftertase, lots of apple and mote spices, big clove finish. A nice beer, quite complex, lots going on, alcohol is extremely well hidden.

Appearance is dark amber/copper, with a small beige head which leaves a foamy covering. Aroma- cloves, spices, nutmeg, brown bread, vanilla traces, Belgian dubbel, brown sugary malt. Taste- brown sugar, cinnamon, spicy traces, nutmeg, yams, maple hints, brown malty bread, baked apple, nutty malt, sticky molasses. Sweet and slightly syrupy towards the end. Tasty autumnal ale.
