Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, alcohol, candy sugar, and a bit of brett, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy amber with an off-white head. Very subtle aroma, a little fruit and a subdued woodiness. Medium body, brown sugar and overripe fruit with quite an oaky edge. Fairly balanced and easy going. 080512

Bottle @ home. Hazy amber-brown color, nice sized off-white head. Smell sweet and lightly alcoholic. Taste some sweet, slightly malts, not much oak aged in the taste. Lightly bitter finish. Thin texture, but smooth. Nice mouthfeel.

350 c&c from Malt & Vine. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head. Aromas of moderately ripe stone fruits. Full bodied. Flavor is ripe stone fruit with a fair amount of oak. It’s pleasant, light and fruity. Finishes a little oaky/woody. Quite a contrast to the Ovila quad. This is very nice. So was the Ovila.

Small yellow-cream head over hazy brown-amber beer. Vinous, dark red berries, praline-like chocolate, liqueurish. Vinous taste, again liqueurish as some typical well-known smooth liqueurs; preserved ginger but not sharp, slightly bitterish. Warming up, blue cheese. Well-bodied, but not viscous or chewy - better attenuated. The oak aging has done a world of good to the basic Isid’or.

$25 375ml bottle (marked as 22-03-11, bottled on?). Pours with a muddy golden-orange body with a massive, off-white head (tight bubbles, truly excellent lace). Aroma of honey, some raw wood, dark fruit, splinters, oak, cedar, spicy wood notes. Dark fruits, raisins, currants. Pomegranates. Medium phenols (clove). Bready malt. A hugely spicy oak (raw/new) presence dominates the aroma. Flavors are oaky, raw, sawdust, lots of caramelization (possibly both from the malt and the oak). Raw, possibly unrefined. Dark fruits, dry, quite tannic, vanilla. Tastes a bit bigger than it is. Sandalwood, pomegranates, white pepper. Very lively carbonation, dry, tannic, warming. Very nontraditional for anything with a trappist label.
