Incorporating tones of a Flemish red with the intricate subtleties of a Framboise lambic, Red Briar integrates aspects of the most notable Old World wild beers. Characterized out of respect rather than definition, this American wild ale envelops all the traditional aspects of a wild beer: must, earthiness, funk, "barnyard", and of course, sour. In addition, this ale blends in a subtle sweetness without the use of pasteurization and has a natural tart, yet refreshing, fruit flavor from aging on raspberries in the cask.

500mL capped bottle. Capped popped off loudly but no gushing. Though a big head, overly big in the glass. The vigorous combination seems to really murky up the beer, or maybe that’s without the carbonation. The beer has a bit too much acidity, which really sticks around. Its s thick tart berry, just to tart and acidic. Not overly sour, just stinging. I like it but 500mL is too a bit too much for me.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright raspberries - not much else. Flavour is heavy on the raspberries, with light sweetness and only slight sourness. Much better than the blueberry. Still not overly complex. Decent.
