The all new Blue Train Double IPA. “Blue Train” is the name of an album produced by the iconic American jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane, released in 1957 on Blue Note Records. Just as John arranged his songs on this tremendous album, we infused the hoppy goodness into this delightful Double IPA.

12oz bottle, no date. But it looks like a recent batch just hit the store. This beer in one word: caramel. Pours a dark amber-caramel color. Aroma is sweet caramel malts with some citrus hops and grassy hops. Flavor is similarly malt driven with sweet American caramel maltiness. Not high on bitterness, thank goodness. Long sweet malty finish. This is not my kind of beer, more of a beer circa 2007.

Bottle from Blue Earl. Another spot on example of the style. Dark amber with soft soapy head. Funky hoppy aroma, taste allows some of the malts.Perfect example of the style.
