Superb golden ale from the Maes brewery. Clear gold, strong complex flavours with a dry aftertaste. Not to heavy in body and quite lively. Should suit the British palate well. Best served in it's own glass. 8,5% alc. Serving temperature 16 •c

At Eetcafé Twilight, Ghent. Pours clear dark golden with a small, foamy, off-white head. The aroma contains esters, banana, some bubblegum, some sugars & iron, hops & spices, alcohol. It tastes medium fruit/sugary sweet and light hoppy/spicy bitter; the finish is slightly dry and spicy. Medium, almost full, body, oily/slick texture, soft carbonation (surprising). Overall sweet and alcoholic, nowhere near the better Belgian Strong Ales, but I could see myself having this again with a meal..

Appearance- golden, fairly clear, a big clingy white head. Aroma- orange peel, spices, Belgian yeast, cereal malt, fruity hints, apple. Taste- cereal malt, trace of cardboard, spicy notes, creamy malt, sweet fruit. Sweet malty finish, booze well-hidden.

Bottle at home. Nice white foam. Yelow, golden color, very bright. Not much aroma. Taste is a little bit flat for this kind of alcohol percentage. Not very special.

Pure white frothy head stayed well on a light golden, still body. Yeasty fruit aroma with candied sweets & slight hints of citrus. Medium body on the palate, slightly thin on the aft. Feels smooth with minimal carbonation. Great tangy taste with sweet citrus, yeast, boiled sweets, cloves & slightly floral.
