A bit dry and giving the impression of staleness. Like a poor version at a local style. Bier Central Gent

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with average to huge, thick, fluffy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Slightly vinous, yeasty fruity and dark malty aroma, hints of overripe red apple, plum, dried fruit, raisin, sultanine, fig, overtones of oat flakes. Taste is sweet-ish, yeasty fruity and slightly yeasty spicy, dark malty, notes of dried fruit, plum, fig, raisin, a touch of liquorice, some cherry; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Smooth, soft, slightly sticky palate.

Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke, shared with Anke and Pieter.
Dark house beer of said restaurant. Pours hazy dark brown with a frothy, tan head. The aroma contains hops, roasted malt, dark fruits (raisin), herbs and dark chocolate. It tastes medium fruity sweet, light raisin-like sour and medium hoppy bitter, with a slightly dry finish. Medium body, slick/watery texture (strange with that ABV), soft carbonation. Equally good balance between bitter and sweet in taste and aroma.

330ml bottle courtesy of Jeremy. Dark amber pour, small ring of head. Malty aroma, some dark fruity notes. Taste is more of the fruit sweetness, rich malts and some Belgian yeast. Not stellar but drinkable.

Apparently made for the Heeren van Liedekercke but tasted at Zythos Bierfestival 2005. I must have received the bottom of the bottle, as it had an ochre-hued brown colour with full milky cloudiness, not very pleasant to look at; beige, thin head. Fruity, sweet aroma of pear, chocolade, ginger; fruity, sweet and very yeasty taste with a bit of toasted bitterness and spicy hops in the finish, ending dry. Should re-rate this from a fresh bottle some day.
