Whisky barrel aged version (according to the brewery) of Gulden Draak Classic, launched in 2014 for the 230th birthday of the brewery, originally in 75 cl bottles only.

Gulden Draak Brewmaster is een ode van de zesde generatie meesterbrouwer aan de vorige generaties brouwers van de brouwerij Van Steenberge, aan het vakmanschap van onze traditionele brouwkunst en met name aan de vijfde generatie brouwer: Jozef Van Steenberge, die zich rond het jaar 1975 verdiepte in de speciaalbieren, gecombineerd met de experimenten van de nieuwe ‘Craft beer world’.
Bij de Gulden Draak Brewmaster zullen de brouwers het basisbrouwsel van de Gulden Draak Classic laten rijpen op houten vaten afkomstig van gedestilleerde dranken, afhankelijk van de beschikbaarheid.

Alcoholvolume: 10,5% – 23° Plato
Aroma: houtaroma, whiskysmaken
Smaak: vanille, zacht

(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity, slightly vinous nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes, brown bread, oak wood and a touch of whisky. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, syrup, dark bread, a touch of cinnamon, oak wood and a vinous finish with a balanced spicy bitterness and a touch of whisky. Full body, quite sweet. A bit sweet and sticky, but tasty and warming. Nice one.

Clear deep amber pour with a thin off-white head. Notes of wood, caramel, prunes, raisins and other dried fruit, sherry, toffee, oak, subtle vanilla. The barrel notes and base beer blend together beautifully. *2016 Limited Edition, Bottled 03/2016. Great deep and smooth mild brew. Lots of wood, raisins, Belgium yeast, hints of brown sugar. The woody whisky fits in great, round and deep, great smooth soft woody in one.

Tap at Delirium Sendai. Strangely light orange-ambver color, cloudy, with lace. Nose i honey, vanilla, wood, whiskey. Very sweet, tons of honey and vanilla, treacle, wood, toffee. SOme peaches. A bit crazily sweet and oily, but good.

09/08/2017 @home - 33cl bottle from Albert Hein Oudenaarde. Clear amber coulour with big ligh tanned head. Nose is sweet malty, caramel, bitter touch. Taste is sweet malts, some fruits, caramel, alcohol, bitter touch.
