A traditional & authentic old style Belgium beer, pure malt and hops, without spices or additives. A floral nose of freshly cut straw, aromas of grilled cereals with a of hint of pepper. Well balanced with a subtle touch of bitterness at the end. The beer’s foam is dense and consistent. A light refreshing beer to be savoured.

The first commercial beer from this young Wallonian micro, with a loosely structured, snow white head and brightly golden blonde colour. Nose gets apricot, freshly cut pears, flowery and grassy hops, dried apricots and cheese. Subdued fruitiness in the mouth, lightly refreshing sourishness, medium carbonation, worty and grainy basic character, finishing mildly grassy bitterish.

Pale blond body. White, fizzy, fastly diminishing head. Dull, uninteresting aroma. Lightly sweet flavour. No mistakes, but that’s about it.

500ml bottle from Beergusto. Pours golden yellow with a light haze, big white head, high carbonation. Aromas of grassy hops and bready malt. Light body. Taste us quite plain, almost lager-like. Would like a bit more yeast character.

Bottle @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, medium sized white head that leaves fair lacing. Weird aroma that has some kind of smokyness. Smoked malts used perhaps? Taste some malts, lightly smoke again and fingerpaint I used in school when I was 5 yo. Weird. You wouldn’t expect this in a blonde at all. I can see some people could like this but it’s not my thing.

Bottle @benzai shared by benzai. Clear golden with a medium sized, fair lacing white head. Smells smoked malts. Tastes smoked, malts, a bit weird, (smoked) wheats, hint of banana. Medium body, nice carbo.

(bottle, 50cl!) Almost clear, golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Worty and bready cara-malty aroma with notes of popcorn and a tinge of grassy hops. Sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a tame carbonation. Slightly sugary and a bit unfermented worty malty base with notes of bread, biscuits and traces of honey; sweetish and a bit sticky sugary finish. Not convincing. 03.XII.13

50 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Light citrus orange with a white head. Nose is white pepper, esters, small fishes, fish guts and a huge almost DE banana profile. Taste is big on sticky DE banana in a bad way, very sweet, candy sugar, light white pepper, almost corn sweetness, thick sticky malts. Sticky candy sugar syrup body. Quite a disappointment considering how good the triple was. Thx! to the RB Crew for sharing.

Small disappearing head over bright coppery-golden beer. Bit oppressive herbal-grassy nose, with not much behind. Some meaty esters. Dull sweetish-peppery-spicy. But even that sounds better than it really is. Traces of maltsyrup, but watered down. Apt carbonation. Dull, dull... is this the future of Belgian microbrew?

12/VIII/13 - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 18/VII/15 (2013-761)

Note: probably one of the first times I was obliged to drink a beer and absolutely didn't feel like having one. But we needed my tasting notes for the 4de Gents Bierfestival. Ok then. :p

Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: quite a lot of banana, dusty, sugary, some citrus, a bit off. Mf: ok carbon, light body. Taste: a lot of banana, sugary, lots of yeast, bit metallic, hoppy touch. Aftertaste: more banana, metallic, sugary, grains, some citrus, grassy hops, bit of bubble gum.
