Teppisten-bier is a complex belgian quadrupel with a syrupy body and notes of dark fruits, hazelnut, sweet chocolate and spices. The name is a joke from italian word "teppista" (hooligan).

Pour is a muddy river water brown with a small white head. Aroma is sugar covered plums with a little treacle. Flavor is a sweet dark fruit with some molasses in the back round. This is a bit too sweet for a quad that I would like, but there is a nice dark fruit aspect to this beer. The alcohol is hidden well, just tone down the sugar and you may have something here.

Tap@Syltan Bar, Malmö - Dark Amber pour with small white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste with some dark dried fruit, sweet caramel and toffee, brown sugar, nice spices into the finish. Solid.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours ruby brown. Aroma is dark ripe fruit, malty, not overly complex. Body is sweet, not overpowered, still fruity. Palate is rather short. Good.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian spicy yest, some coriander, and lots of caramel. Flavour is very syrupy and somewhat spicy, with lots of spicy Belgian yeast, coriander, dusty toasted nuts and loads of caramel. Extremely malty and rather sweet, though the yeast and spicy elements subdue the sweetness a little. Unusual, but cohesive and well-rounded. Excellent.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany with light head. Aromas of candi sugar, dark caramel, sweet malts, and raisins. Flavors follow same with additional metallic Belgian yeast, grass and bready malts. Good stuff though pricey.

Bottle. Color: Dark ruby, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Sweet roasted malts, brown sugar, hints of yeast, herbs and chocolate. Earthy, more bitter finish. Nice beer, but just a bit too sweet for me.

dark brown colour with reddish notes, moderate sized beige-ish head; aroma and taste of burnt plum jam, walnut biscuit notes, some (burnt) caramel and herbal notes, maybe anise, too; good quadrupel, but still, something is missing, which could make it a masterpiece

--- Beer merged from original tick of Teppistenbier - on 25 May 2018 at 14:05 - Score: 7
