50cl can from a Monoprix in Colombes, Paris. Reddish brown with a rapidly fading cream head; sweet nutty malt aromas; taste is less sweet than expected, good malts with smoky and earthy notes; gently bitter finish.

Can. It pours a clear, copper-colored body under a diminishing beige head. Caramel, roasted malt and dried fruits in the aroma. Dried fruits, dark sugar, caramel and some bitterness in the flavor. Mellow, medium mouthfeel with pleasant carbonation. Sweet finish with dried fruits and a herbal bitterness. A pleasant macro-surprise. Balanced and quite tasteful, but far from big. (080829)

Can, in France. Dark ruby coloured, off white head. Aroma of chocolate, some dark fruits and roasted malts. Taste is chocolate, cacao, roasted malts and brown sugar. A bit watery, but very nice flavours in this one. Reminded me a bit of La Trappe Bock.

Bottle, numerous in Marseille and South of France, Sept -Oct2007. Pours redish brown with a muddyhead. Sweet maltyaroma with some fruit.. Flavour is sweet malt with notes of chocolate and some bitterness. This was invariable the best beer on offer in many cafes ,bars and restaurants i visited all over the south of france last year. While nothing earth shattering, its a drinkable effort, and a great get out of jail card.
