Bottled. Beautiful cloudy brown color, medium off-white head. Typical dunkel aroma, some caramel malts, some raisin and candy sugar. Sweet malty taste, some chocolate notes. Bit sticky palate. Very nice french dunkel.

Bitterhop and caramel nose. Lovely chestnut brown, low but stable head. Sweet dark malt flavors, a bit too dominating perhaps. Smooth texture, rich body. Ok.

Dark amber, brownish colour, no head (French pubs have low hygiene standards, you would not be surprised ;o). Simple aroma, some malt. Caramalt, caramel, some sweetness, drinkable but very simple. Ordinary palate.

Pale brown. Very sweet and fruity, not overly malty, not much bitterness. One dimensional.

the definitive french brune beer, a pleasant coffe taste with a touch of fruit. A great beer.

Liked it back in the days, even if it was on the sweeter side. Caramel, toffee, sweet bread.
