Bottle at On The Hoof Bistro, Sydenham. Vague malty aroma. Tteacle toffee brown. Off-white patchy head. Sweet going to a tad bitter. Medium bodied. Thick mouthfeel. Brown sugar, treacle, dried fruit. Nice, if not powerful.

Flesje gedronken tijdens vakantie in Frankrijk. Helder, roodbruin bier met veel schuim dat snel weg zakt. Aroma van pruimen en gebrande koffie. Smaak is bitterig zoet en iets fruitig. Nasmaak is licht bitter en vloeit licht uit.

Deep red/brown colour, yellowish head is thin and vanishes quickly. Aroma has a vague sirupy sweetness with some background notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste is sweet from start to finish. Caramel and not much else that i can pick upfront, a hint of coffee in the finish, but still sweet. Still feels decent due to a silky, smooth mouthfeel. Body is medium, carbonation is very gentle. Not that it’s bad, it’s just plain boring and not worthy

At a tasting thanks, very little head, very deep red to brown color, woody aroma, hint of fruit and light cakey malt, fruity cakey malty flavor. Drinkable but a little to sweet and not really exciting.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’s place. Deep red. Aroma of malt, caramel, some dried fruit, an alcoholic note. Sweet flavor with caramel, dried fruits, a bit of alcohol, and a slightly bitterish finish. Medium-bodied, a bit oily. Pretty decent.

Bottle in Nice. It pours deep brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is sweet, earthy, gravy browning, malt loaf, fruit cake, a bit artificial, raw alcohol, caramel and tangy. The taste is quite sweet, malt loaf, alcohol boost, cheap cola, earthy and slightly artificial with an earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet and artificial. Saying that it drinks easier than it should. So-so overall.
