Don’t know how to describe this, it’s kind of a saison, with a sour body. Reminds me of a tardy wine as well. Weird, but very good.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Birthday Celebration of Jack & Leighton - many thanks to Paul for supplying the Fantome; it’s just not a real party until the Fantome starts a pourin’. Pours cloudy, orange-gold with a fine, fading white head. Tangy orange citrus aroma with sugary, pale bread. Big sweet falvor with further notes of lightly tangy citrus, and mild orange peel bitterness. Full bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with moderate dry citrus fruits, some dough, sugar, faint yeast. Decent. Very drinkable for the ABV.

Bottle - big thanks to Paul at Jack and Leightons birthday pleasantries, 13/04/13. Heavily hazed golden orange with wee floaters to keep me company. Nose is tarte fruits, sour tones, lemon rind, light sugar, bitter orange, sour peaches, farmyard. Taste comprises a good level of funk, soured fleshy fruits, burnt notes, lemon rind, spice. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry in the finish. Nice stuff!

Bottle (a few years old) shared at Jack & Leighton’s birthday celebration. It pours hazy golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is hay, floral, earth, light vinegar, sweat, sour apple and apricot. The taste is pleasantly tart, floral, hay, some vinegar, touch of sweetness, lemon, sour peach, apricot and some sherbet with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Not sure if its meant to be this sour, but it’s tasty nonetheless.

Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels
Hazy deep blond color, small head. Mild aroma, a bit spicy. Smooth mouthfeel, highly carbonated, differently from other Fantôme this one has some fruitiness and moderate sweetness; also a light ending astringency.
Very good.
