Das Flens Pils ist so bekannt, dass man es auch in Geschäften in Wien bekommt. Es ist ein solides norddeutsches Pils mit dem klassischen, herben Hopfengeschmack, der besonders hinten raus prägnant wird. Es ist vielleicht nicht so verspielt wie neue, craftige PIls-Varianten, aber als Durstlöscher ist es allemal sehr gut. Aufgrund der Bekanntheit und des tollen Marketings sollte man es einfach mal probieren um sich selbst ein Bild zu machen.

Pours clear light gold from the bottle with a fluffy white head. Aroma is grainy with hints of leather and honey. Taste has an up front malty sweetness that soon fades beneath a dry, bitter hop blanket. The brew has a nice rich feel in the mouth and is medium-bodied with a balanced carbonation. Okay if you like the style.

330ml swing-top bottle into pint glass. From ALDI. Pours a pale yellow with a solid two finger white head. Nose is grainy with a touch of stale malt and cardboard. Lightly carbonated. Light body, neutral taste . Finish is grainy, lingering and tinny. Not great but its industrial dryness does make you want another.

Bottle at home, from getränkmarkt. Happy memories of this beer from warm evenings in Berlin but on a normal day, it comes across as invariably bland and tinny. (9/2/17).

Bottle as a gift from Anke. Correcting an old rating here I see. Plain nose. Decent look with lasting bubbles and ofc the bottle is good fun. Good bitterness to it. Not as tinny this time. 3.3 to 4.8. (19/3/26).

Bottle, 330 ml at Tolkien’s, Zagreb. Pours cloudy golden with medium white head. Malty, grainy, bread, herbal. Sweetish with some bitterness in finish. Light bodied.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear golden pour with two finger soapy white head. Poor retention, average lacing. Nose is malty with notable corn presence. Thin to medium body, highly carbonated. Smooth texture. Malty sweet with slightly metallic bitternes. Aroma of malts, grains, corn. Slightly herbal and peppery with a touch of caramel. Bitter mouthfeel followed by a long and metallic finish. Overall, ok brew. Refreshing. Metallic acidity ruins it a bit, but it’s still decent.

Quite high head, big bubbles. Very light straw colored beer. Wet dog scent all the way. Barely sensible hops. A bit of grass and sewers. Surprisingly bitter, but has a nasty and long aftertaste. Very light body. Medium carbonation. Watery.
