Bottle. Vintage 2019 ( Nose; brown sugar, toffee, booze, nuts, sticky fruit, figs, pear drops. Taste is nutty, brown sugar, peppery, spicy, deep malt taste, herbal bitterness, whisky (rather than bourbon), almond, earthy, woody, stewed prune, leaf. Good (but not outstanding which is what I expect from Struise - perhaps unfair)

2019. Brown with greyish head. Sweet roasted barley malts. Some wry grapiness, a whiff of dust, some sacks of brown sugar, an old leather shoe and some more buttery malts. Sweet, dusty and stale bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. What happened?!

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy dull brown with small beige head. Raisins, red currants, caramel, soft vanilla and bourbon, absinthe, herbal hops, dusty grains, wheat, blackberries. Fruity and dusty with some bourbon and wheat. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Quite unusual.

Bottle. Brown amber pour. Aroma of sweet vanilla, buttery caramel, raisin, figs, bourbon, dates, caramelised malt and some cinnamon. Taste has bitter burned caramel, figs, buttery dates, vanilla, caramelised malt, cheap bourbon, raisin and some iron. No a lot of bourbon there and it feels cheap and thin, beer seems a bit oxidised as well. Not the best Struise.
