Bottle from marks and Spencer’s. A decent ale, strong grapefruit flavour and a good alcohol level to take control of the bitterness.

Bottle from M&S, Ealing Broadway. Pale gold in colour, with a slight haze and moderate fizziness. Sharp, citrus, fruit and grassy hops. Light, sweetish malt flavours, with a sherbet kick and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, medium sample. Slight hazy golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit, slight pine, bit caramel malt. Bit sweet in taste, soft bitterness. Refreshing. Decent stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pale Ale on 05 Jun 2020 at 20:33 - Score: 7. Original review text: Wat kruidig, redelijk bitter. Of eigenlijk behoorlijk bitter. Wat een feest

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co Islington - London. Many thanks to Dave for this classic! Pours clear gold with a white froth ceiling. The nose holds light rindy grapefruit, lemon peel. Lightly sweet with fain minerals, more rindy bitterness, dry bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean to finish, with just a bit of resin, pithy and rindy citrus. Good one.

33cl bottle from Marks & Spencer, Camberley. A hazy pale amber pour with a thick white head; yeasty aroma; and a crisp light citrus taste with a grainy body; and a smooth creamy finish, with a lingering grapefruit bitterness. A satisfying and substantial pale ale.

Bottle, one of a load I picked up at M&S for around £1.20 a pop! Very hazy, golden orange. Foamy, messy, sticky, off white head. Looks good. Nose has cracker malts. Dry, and lightly toasty. Orange jelly. Hint of lemon and lime. Light, soft toffee. Taste is light, bright bitter. Some hop oiliness. Fresh mouthfeel. More bitterness on the finish, drying out a little along the way. Nice one.
