Bottled. A murky dark brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and caramel, leading to a dry woody finish.

Unfortunately not the draught beer, brewed @ the brewpub, apparently closed in August, but the bottled version from Bavik. Very good, mango-yellow to amberish, dense head, over hazy foxy-amber beer. Quite malty nose, with a smell of rye bread. Bit spicy aromas, but more as if from grains or seeds. Sweet, bready taste as a cut of brown bread with a very sweet orange marmalade spread. Initially just a touch of acidity, but gradually this becomes more obvious than the underlying sweetness. Spiciness is there, but remains very restrained. Spritzy, bit slick, but rather thinnish for an 8% ABV beer - probably well-attenuated, I guess. Quite original, but not outstanding brown ale. I really want to try the draught version asap. Draught Thick-set, cream to mangoyellow head over fully hazy dark-amber beer. Nice roasted, melanoidin-laden nose, with marzipan or almonds. Almonds really sovereign in the taste, even amandine or rosewater or frangipane. Pretty sweet, lots of restsugars. Aromas and almondy flavours ar OK, but too sweet to be really my liking. Bit diappointed. 7/4/6/4/13
