Das erste in NRW gebraute Landbier ist das Pott’s Landbier, ein echtes „Münsterländer Original“. Seinen kräftigen und besonders würzigen Charakter verdankt das untergärig gebraute Bier der Komposition von vier ausgesuchten Malzsorten und verleiht ihm gleichzeitig seine sanfte Bernsteinfarbe. Eine leichte, zurückhaltende Hopfennote rundet das Geschmackserlebnis ab.

(Bottle) Labeled 4.8% ABV. Dark golden color, small tan head. Grainy and malty scent. Acidic, grainy and coffee taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. 6-3-6-3-11=2.9 - Rerate on January 1, 2009. Again 4.8% ABV. Clear brown color, big fluffy tan head. Sweet malty scent, some caramel. Sweet caramel and a bit bitter taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel. Medium high bry bittereness. 7-4-7-4-14=3.6

Bottle. Clear amber color with a small fair lacing white head. Aroma is ligth malty, toasted, notes of caramel, light yeasty, meat. Flavor is ligth to moderate sweet and bitter, ligth in a good balance. Body is ligth to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Bottle, thanks to Derdoppelbock for this. Chestnut, thin beige head. Slightly sour malt aroma. Malt, sour, almond, nutty flavours in mouth. Some candy sugar. Finish is quite short.

Bottled (thanks DerDoppelbock). Amber colour, mediumsized white fluffy head. Aroma is malts and rye. Flavour is malts, rye and caramel. Also some bittering hops kicking in the finish and aftertaste. Burnt sugar also in finish.

Bottled as "Pott’s Landbier", alc. 4.8% (BB 10/2006). Amber color, small white head. Toasted toffee aroma, cardboard malty. Malty with some brown sugar notes. Slightly metallic. Uninteresting.

Clear amber; with good yellowish head. Caramel, cookies, bit of grass, coloured malts, malt syrup. Dry-herbal taste, with a point of caramel, but again very little or no sweetness. Faint leafy or chestnut flavour, but unfortunately empty finish. Light to medium bodied. Near no tactile sensations on the tongue. Again one that starts pretty strongly, but fades out fast. Clear, amber body. Off-white, creamy to fizzy head. Aroma of sweet, fine malts and yoghurt. Lightly bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Not bad. Quite tasty for a sunny afternoon at a patio in the German countryside.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pretty, deep amber without much head. Nice, dark malty feel with a good balance between sweet and bitter. Has a somewhat rustic "homebrewed" - but pleasant - character. 091002

Swing-top bottle: Amber coloured, medium-sized white frothy head; sweetish (caramel) malty nose with some hints of fresh grassy hoppiness; mild, sweetish malty taste; sweetish lavour; fruity, malty aftertaste with a distinctive light bitterness; quite full-bodied, well-rounded, very well quaffable; a mild, but not a bland one......
