Bottle, Reinaert label, from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Hazy orange with small black particles and a thin head. Aroma is full of funkiness with some stone fruit, apple and caramel notes. Funkiness is present in the taste, but to a much smaller degree. Caramel and fruity notes are also present in the taste. Thick texture, but also a little bit of a papery feel (not oxidation).

2005 bottle. Hazy gold, thin head. Funky nose for sure, with leather, hints of cherry pit. Mildly tart flavor, some sweet fruit malts (lemon, peach) and more funk - leather and ?. Aroma begins to turn floral and peppery. Spikes of alcohol bite into the finish. Weird but nice.

Bottle at Mes’s with Loz, and Ang, thanks Mes for hosting this hastily arranged tasting 20-06-08 Pours light golden with fluffy white hedad. Some sour fruit tingle your nostrils, plus there ois also a slight mustiness and a tinge of the farmyard about this oh and some yeast and spices thrown into the mix. Tasty beer slightly sour, some spicy sweetness but also with a sour edge. Its really quite interesting and tastes like a combination of different beer styles.

Thanks to whoever brought this to the Hotel Tasting before the Brewer’s Jam. Fairly clear, light orange body. Funky spicy aroma. Tart, with and underlying sweetness. Gets better towards the end of the glass.

An aroma that reminds me of a farm pasture. Flavor is a little sour, but not as sour as it might be. Cloudy beer, lots of yeast. I would like it better if it were even more sour.

Reinaert wild ale. Pour is a orange with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is very doughy and yeasty. Flavor is bready but very tart and citric. Some earthyness and creamy yeast show up in the swallow. I thought this would be more sour but this is not a Flemish sour as i was expecting. Still its a typical but tasty Belgian ale.

Bottle courtesy of Boboski: Poured a clear golden color ale with a big foamy head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of barnyard and funk is dominating and enjoyable but maybe a bit strange. Taste is way too strong on the barnyard with what I can only describe as cat litter (not that I have ever tasted it but you get the idea). I usually am a big fan of sour, tart and funky beer but this goes to a level that I am either not ready for or maybe the brewer screw-up something. I finally had to drain pour this one.

bottle shared with hotstuff and thedm - Pours hazy yellow with a big, fizzy head. There’s yeast and citrus apparent in the aroma. The flavor is lightly malty and tart with good balance and a trace of banana. The mouthfeel is very lively and the finish enjoyable and pleasantly warming.
