2013 Triple version drank 2021. Foamy off white head left a collar on a reddish brown still body. Bourbon, raisin & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a tingle on the back & clean aft. Bourbon, malt, chocolate, jam & berry tastes with a big boozy finish. Good one.

2014 bottle. Not sure anymore where I picked this up. Pour dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma full of raisins, prunes, oak. The bourbon is there but very nicely balanced. Inviting. Taste is sweet, full of molasses but with some fruity notes at the end—mostly overripe plum. Big thick body, moderate carbonation. Tasty!

Solid powerful evening sipper this one Complex and rich flavor. Also a fine pleasant aroma Balanced sweetness for a beer like this Also a fine carbonation level. Unusual easy to drink Toffee, dried fruits, candy, some spices and barrel [Bottle from Grima] Last rating 2019 Happy New Beer Year Everybody

Bottle @ Fermentoren. Pours a dark hazy with an offwhite head. Aromas of rye, bourbon, sweet caramel, dark sugar, sour apples and booze. Taste of oak, rye, caramel and slight bourbon. Sweet aftertaste.

It is Struise, it is a quadrupel and there is barrel aging involved, should be a good combination in my humble opinion. I picked up this 11.2 oz bottle at a swell beer shop in Aalborg, DK this summer. So I have waited until the hottest part of the year to open the bottle up, where is the logic in that? The label informs that this is a 2014 vintage. I'm using a Straffe Hendrik snifter obtained in the same trip through Scandanavia. The pour is an expected dark cola brown and I see a head settling to a tan rim around the glass. A mighty fine scent, toffee, figs and hay. So the payoff to getting this brew home, a taste. Thick wheat bread, a bit of caramel, vanilla, an indication of the barrel, all good. It is chewy and dry and slightly bitter. Not quite to the level of Pannepot but hardly anything is. So it is only great instead of outstanding.
