Invernale, potente, complessa. Servire a 8 - 10 ºC. Ingredienti: acqua, malto d'orzo, zucchero, purea di mirtillo (6%), luppolo, lievito.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Thanks to Colin. Pours dark, amber-gold with a creamy head. Ripe fruits abound, lots of berries, caramel, toffee - flavors of that ilk. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, malty finish, plenty more ripe fruits. Tasty.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko Tasting, 08/07/13, acquired from a trade thanks to Luca (Mortlach). Hazed dark amber with a thin light beige head that clears to a film. Nose is boozey do - a little on the harsh side, dark toffee, booze steeped dark fruits. Taste comprises demerara sugars, dark toffee fudge, booze but much less harsh than the aroma, woody notes, dark fruit, candyfloss. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light booze in the finish. Ok barleywine.

15/03/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Rossa, viva, intensa, appena appena torbida, schiuma bianca molto abbondante e persistente.

Draft @ Cantillon Quintessence 2012. Bright orange with a very small what appears to be tanned head. Smell is of sweet jam. sugar heavy, berries, cloud berries, syrup. Taste is sweet with booze coming clearly through, jam, white sugar heavy, some brown sugar as well, toffee, caramel, syrup, coming into booze. Light syrupy body, interest, rather non-subtle stuff.

Bottle at GBBF 2012. It pours cloudy deep brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet dark fruit (blueberry, plum and raisin), caramel and wood. The taste is caramel, wood, leather, chocolate, blueberry, plum, prune and some alcohol warmth. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Smooth and tasty.

Bottle from GBBF 2012, drunk at home. Cloudy dark brown with lasting beige head. Sweetish raisiny aroma. Quite an attractive aroma. Yes a tasty raisiny oloroso sherry type flavour with just a bit of burn on the finish. Rather good, smooth balanced to be honest. Yep, really quite a tasty refined barley wine. Decent malts.
