bottle shared by thedm and hotstuff - This beer comes with really cool packaging. I’ve got to love the paper wrapping with the dragon theme. It pours murky light brown with a thin head. The aroma is yeast and malt with little if any blueberry noticeable. The flavor is mostly caramel malt and yeast with some dark fruit notes, but nothing I could pinpoint as blueberries. It tastes more like the typical fruit notes one might get from the yeast. Pretty average.

Cloudy brownish color with floating particles, not nice to see. There is some malt and sweet caramel here, a very light fruitiness across it, a strange yeast but leaving positive traces. Quite strange but not bad.

Triple fermentation, one with blueberry syrup.
Cloudy dark amber color, with a purple shade. The aroma is not too strong, with some malt, caramel and yeast fruitness, but also some alcohol and light phenol. Full bodied, quite malty, well balanced between sweetness and bitterness, with a touch of fruit sourness, maybe from the blueberries.
For me, too much strong/alcoholic, but anyway it’s a good Strong Belgian Ale, with some complexity.

Light red brown, sweet malt fruit, little fizz, very fruity up front little sharp little sweet distinct fruit (probably the blueberries) but alchols shows a bit much, little spirit like in linger.

750ml with the fancy paper. Pours like mud, completely murky brown , no clarity. Decent head with an average lacing. I got to admit when I first show this bottle I wouldn’t have thought it was a barleywine but this is definitely a barleywine with a nice twist. Aroma is pretty hoppy (slightly citric, again surprising), caramel maltiness, and a fruit tea/marmalade aspect. A bit of the standard alchy raison sweetness. Taste is similarly light caramel malt sweetness, a good floral aspect - again seems to be coming from an original hop profile. Overall this beer is not a light beer but it creates a very nice light aspect coming from this fruity hop. Now I never get straight blueberry but I always feel berry freedom and joy (I know its weird but berries do that to me). Finishes off light on bitterness, and sweet aftertaste. No booziness and I wouldn’t have guessed more than 8%.

Sampled at the O-Town throwdown. Poured a murky brown color with light brown head. Light aroma with malt sweetness. It tastes kind of thin and has mild berry notes and sweetness.

July 2008. Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours deep copper with haze and off white head. The aroma is fruit and tart with cherries and sweet ripe strawberries and more cherries followed by continued tartness. The taste has big sweet fruitiness up front with apples, cherries and strawberries with a background of growing fruit tartness. The tart notes are brief and have seem to mildly drift away into sweet fruitiness along with a palate caressing note of caramel. Very nice.

Small, fast gone creamy-yellowish head over fully hazy red-brown beer. Very slightly sourish, caramel, wood and brown sugar syrup; ending faintly glue-y. Dark, bitterish and woody malts, on a rather sweet, full-rounded basic taste. Fruity character without really fruity flavours. Fleeting impression of chocolate. Ending is again more glue/ketonish, but not disturbingly so. Quite full MF, very well bodied, slick to oily texture. Alcoholwarming in a nice way, bit like after swallowing malt whisky. Reasonably complex beer, filling. No trace of blueberries, just a fruity impression.
