50cl bottle, bottled on 27/07/2012. Ambrée/cuivrée, col épais et crémeux beige. Arôme malté, grains, note qcq effluves de houblon citronné/pamplemousse. Palais est malté et houblonné, amertume herbacée. Fini est sec, côté grains poussiéreux, malt type cara en fin de bouche et le seigle qui donne une brève pointe épicée. Houblon rajoute un bref soupçon de note tropicale en fin de bouche. Profil de fin de bouche limite huileux, peut être des houblons.

Medium amber color. Light spicy rye nose on top of hops. Very nice mouth feel, but rye is a bit too understated IMO. Moderate bitter finish. I feel they didn’t want to produce too extreme of a beer and it came off a bit too tame, cranking up the notches of hops and rye and maybe the ABV to 6.5% would make this beer kick ass.

500 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a large white head. a sweet earthy nose with light hops and caramel. The flavor is smooth and clean with light caramel, spicy rye and hops, oranges. Good.

Orange colour, low carbonation, no head. Notes of citrus and sweet fruit. Very bitter aftertaste. Nice beer!

Bottle sampled @ Borefts 2012 - orange with a white bubbles head - orange, marmalade hops in the nose, some caramel, rye is only very light - tastes of bitter orange peel, caramel, bitter grapefruit, spices and substantial rye base floating around - bit higher carb, bit rye body - well-done, lightly outside of my interests

Small head, fast gone over cloudy red-orange beer. Very little nose to speak of, modest; a tad spicy, and a fruity hint, either rosehips or red fruity (cranberry? raspberry?). Bitter, tangy, tannines, but just enough restsweetness in the finish to give a quite adequate balance. Faintly fruity, if nothing specific. Still dry, medium bodied. Bit demure, but certainly a fine beer. Amazing to see it in Belgium, good work, Chris Achouffe!

Clear dark amber to copper red beer, big aery yellow head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: little fruity, metallic, quite some resin, sweet malts, caramel, whiff of citrus. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: little fruity, some citrus, bitter grassy hops, little malty. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, green banana, watery ending. Very disappointing as I had hoped this to be the best beer they brought along...

Bottle from Kensington Wine Market, Calgary. It pours clear golden-amber, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is dough, spice, faint hint of butter, toast and faint ketchup. The taste is cereal, rye bread, light spice, citrus pith, lemon, umami aspect and some bitterness, with a dry, lightly spicy finish. Medium body and a fairly rough carbonation. Rather off, perhaps a bad bottle? A bit of a disappointment from this brewery.

500mL bottle, pours a clear golden / amber with a big white head. Aroma is pleasantly rye-like without being too overbearing, with some bready malts and lightly floral hops. Flavour is essentially a rye-spiked standard pale ale with that signature Charlevoix yeast - nothing else really needs to be said about the flavour. Body is medium carbonation with a yeasty, rye finish. Decent.
