saturday night sampling at beerbistro in Toronto. Nice bubbly head. taste is of sweet malt and belgian yeast. hints of earthiness, apricots, brown sugar. damn fine

Poured a cloudy amber-orange colour with a few dark particules floating around. The beautiful creamy head stayed a while and left some wavy lacing. It also topped the brew with a nice foamy coating. Aromas were blasting with spices and fruits. The taste was composed of caramel, with the combo and fruits and spices. It started sweet and ended on a tarty bitter finish. The drinkability is top notch for me, even with its high alcohol content. Probably one of my best Begian strong ale.

Appearance: Slightly hazy amber with a nice off-white head, little lacing
Aroma: Dark fruits, caramel, Belgian candy, sweet malts
Taste: Sweet malts, yeasty, grainy, candied fruit and some hot alcohols
A nice Belgian strong ale, would taste great on a cold night.

Maudite pours a dark red brown with a very small fizzy head that disappeared almost immediately, leaving just about zero lacing. The smell and flavor were better. Spice, somewhere between pepper and coriander seed, is particularly evident, at least compared to other Unibroue offerings. There are some interesting pine or spruce hop notes in the background. The delicacy of the hop flavor is a very nice touch. The taste is also earthy and fruity, in line with Unibroue’s range. I always enjoy the Unibroue feel of fine, prickly carbonation.

330 ml bottle. Amber body with a nice, dense off-white head. Quite strong aroma, caramel, candy sugar, dry fruit and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet, slightly roasted caramel, malt, brown sugar, spices and some alcohol. Nice flavor, maybe a bit to sweet for me.

bottle pours carmel with a thin light tan head. Aroma is spicey with bready malts. Dark candy sugar flavor with a light spice in the finish with pepper and cinnamon.

unbelievable warmth, that is the first thing i noticed after the first sip. i had this one settling in the celar for a little while before opening. great color and aroma, poured into a tulip glass, this didnt dissapoint. had it as an aperitif, after a large italian dinner, and it hit the spot. one of the best beers ive had from this brewer.

50cl bottle at home. Cloudy brown, small light brown head. toffee and faint caramelly aroma,faint sweet malts, faint alc. faint dark fruits. alc a little too distinct compared to the rest. Sort of belgian in style. spicy bitterness is a bit weird.
