Sunny, blonde color and aromatic fruitiness.

A perfect harmony between the barley and wheat provides the typical cloudy and the specific and fruity aroma. At the end of the cooking process in the brewing room, the spice mixture of, among others, coriander and citrus fruits is added.

Not brewed with unmalted wheat like all other white beers, but with 40% unmalted barley and with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. That is precisely why the label mentions 'Gerstewijn'. The secondary fermentation takes ten days in a heated room with a constant temperature of 22 ° C.

Bottle @ home, shared with Thompson. Clear light yellow color, small white lacing. Smells like white wine or champagne. Tastes like champagne too actually: fresh and lightly sweet. Little bit dry finish. Very nice carbo, low to medium body.

bottle@Paters Vaetje: cloudy golden with a big, fluffy head, taste is bitter upfront, plenty of wheat, grains, lots of citrus, definite amount of hops, white pepper, finish has a slight sourness, ok, the sour aftertaste does make it a bit better for me

Cloudy yellow color with chunks, medium white head that lasts. Little lacing. Aroma of bubblegum and gun metal, background of rising dough. Flavor starts sweet then gets pretty bitter, some citrus and pepper, and a sourish finish. Jumble. Average body. One reviewer liked this one enough to take a few bottles home, but I beg to differ. Too much of an unusual mix that just doesn’t quite work.

(25cl bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a loose and diminishing frothy white head. Sweet and slightly mineralic citrus-fruity and zesty aroma with present notes of coriander. Light-sweet and slightly acidic tart flavour, thin bodied with a medium carbonation. Slim malty base with fruity accents and coriander spice; slim and fruity finish with a delicate bitterness. Refreshing but not overly exciting (08.II.09).

A hazy blonde ale with a thick white head. A sweet apple aroma, veering on pineapple, with some milkey notes. In mouth, a good creamy sweet malt with light curacao. Very short in mouth. Light bodied but very nice. Tasted Nov. 2006.

Bottle in Bierkelder de Zolder, Bruges. A rather bland and dry yeasty version of a Belgian witbier. A bit earthy and musty.
