Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Yoav. Hazy yellowish pale gold. Lovely sourish aroma, funky, fruity and vinous with oak and a vinegar note. Sourish flavor, vinous, somewhat funky, with nice fruitiness and oak. Medium-bodied.

2009 vintage bottle at King Arthur pub in Rome-ITALY, courtesy of Gianluca (publican). Huge thanks Gianluca. Pours a clean pale golden color, very close to a yellow chardonnay like appearance. No real foam, just some white bubbles at the verge of the glass. Nose: wooden barrel, apple skin. Mouth: acetic, apple feel, pleasantly flat body but balanced. Excellent. Gianluca you are spoiling me :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beware of the Italians, this country is producing great beers since a few years. This one from Piemonte has matured on Barbera wine battles and has refermented with wine yeast - again an attempt to link the northern European beer culture with mediterranean wine culture. The result is a practically headless beer with cloudy golden blonde colour, boasting a complex aroma of obviously white wine, peach, apricot, wood, sherry, hay, jute, lemon juice, white grapes and something funky. Sourish, fruity taste, dry, vinous, ’wild’ and a bit lambic-like, complex, sherry, hay, citrus, sour cream, dry sourish, wine-like finish, long. Wonderfully complex, impetuous marriage of beer and wine.

Pours clear gold into a snifter. White frothy head hug rim. Funky earth and sourdough aromas. Thin with dry lemon zest and funk upfront turning to sour summer fruits in the medium length finish.

21/09/2013 Brasserie 4:20 (handpump), 2009 vintage. Dorata, torbida, opalescente, schiuma leggerissima a bolle grossolane. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione soft. La Mummia si conferma un capolavoro!

Bottle from Pangaea in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with very little head. Aroma is very barnyard. Med body. Flavor is not so barnyard as the aroma suggested, but it is very. Very. Yet it is almost smooth and mild. Finishes "Pleasantly sour".

Bottle shared at the Craft Beer Co. - Clerkenwell, London Holiday Tasting - thanks to Colin! Pours cloudy yellow with pretty much no head. Lots of sweat on the nose, some peach and lemon. Light sweet flavor with moderate acidity, light funk, some salt, sweat and lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good and tangy to finish, light sourness, further sweat and lemon. Good one.
