1999 Vintage 75 cl. bottle@Kulminator: no label, completely covered by dust, appearance is slightly hazy, light golden with nearly no head, smell is lots of musty, sour lemons, plenty of horse blanket, rainwater, tart, barnyard funk & minor leather, taste is lots of sour lemon acid, light rotting lemons, plenty of barnyard funk, acidic, light pepper, sour slightly watery, definitely not as extreme as I expected something like this to be but certainlly very nice /// Sampled one of these gain from 1999 - probably overrated this one a bit but didn’t take proper notes so I will leave the score for what it is. Still not a bad one esp. compared to the new stuff.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a slightly unclear body, copper colored and topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Cellary, slightly sugary nose with lemon juice and some barnyard. The palate is dry, astringent and still sweeitsh, at least compared to the most authentic geuzes. Lemon and cellar flavors, rather uncomplex. Definitely in another league than the geuzes from Girardin, Cantillon and others, but also in a much higher ranked league than the Chapeau fruit lambics. 110501

Bottle, 1999 vintage at Kulminator, Antwerp. The aroma was pretty mild, apples, and the classic scent of barnyard. Sour it was, but not extreme. Very refreshing and enjoyable beer to drink.

Bottle bought at D.H.V.L. Had the chapeau gueze logo but waitor garanteed that it was this instead. 37,5cl bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a white foam. Nose is sour, tart, barnyard, brett. Dry and cellar with a lovely fresh & sour bite. Nice.
