Bottle. Malty aroma, roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, light coffee. Tastes the same as aroma, light sweet, light to medium bitter. Full body, malty bitter sweet finish. Very good.

AROMA: Sweet with scents of chocolate and brown sugar.

APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black with a thin, dark-tan head that dissipates quickly.

TASTE: Pure heaven!! It's medium sweet with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and caramel.

PALATE: Creamy, full texture with average carbonation and a long finish that has a hint of unsweetened chocolate

OVERALL: Their tagline of "Dark, Rich & Sexy" is right on the nose. And I really can't find any faults with it. Basically, this is probably the most perfect Porter I've every had.

25 June 2018. Bottle at The Cat's Back, Tilburg. Shared with Anke. Pours cloudy black with a thick, stable, foamy, beige head; little lacing. Rich aroma of roasted malt, mocha, dark chocolate chips, soy sauce, nutmeg, salted peanut, cream, kahlua, toast, sweet tobacco. It tastes medium malty sweet, notes of milk chocolate & cream, and light roasted bitter, hint of toast, with a nutty back. Dryish, toasty finish, herbal hoppiness, with lingering cream & chocolate. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. So rich but so easy to sip, love it! Rerate, bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Expressive cold coffee, dark chocolate, walnut, chestnut, earth, prune, dry mushrooms. Bitter core of coffee, unsugared chocolate & toast, light sweet dark toffee, prune with a nutty & mushroom-like umami edge. Toasty finish, black tea, herbal hops & powdery chocolate.

Voici un Porter bien équilibré, aux arômes torréfiés plaisants. Une fois dit cela je vais manquer d'inspiration par contre car elle est plutôt neutre voire banale. Elle n'amène pas cette petite touche supplémentaire qui en appellerait une deuxième. En verre, c'est propre, robe noire avec une fine mousse brune ne nappant pas toute la surface. Le nez est sur le café et chocolat. Efficace mais sans fioriture. L'attaque est fraîche mais manque de présence en bouche. On y retrouve principalement des arômes de café (agréables). La deuxième bouche de façon surprenant décline aromatiquement et devient un peu fade. Ce n'est que sur la troisième bouche et le final que ce Porter prend de l'essor avec une présence en bouche juste correcte. Le final correct, d'une longueur correcte présente en plus des arômes de café et chocolat, une amertume herbacée intéressante. Côté équilibre, c'est du bon travail par contre. Alcool à 6,5 % efficace, un sucre bien dosé et une amertume à 45 d'IBU suffisante (ressenti légèrement inférieur). Simple mais efficace. Ça manque de passion tout de même.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is roasty, chocolate malt balls, dark bread, leather, pouch tobacco. Pours black with a one finger tan head with decent retention; it settles into a cap of foam after a minute and never disappears through the duration of the glass. Leaves patterns of lace. Taste is moderately sweet, never cloying, with a nice herbal hop bitterness to balance it out; roasty, light note of licorice in flavor. No flaws that I can see. This is perfect for style, not to mention extremely tasty. What more could you want in a porter? Normally it takes me a good 20 or 30 minutes to finish a beer like this when I'm rating, but I sucked this thing down in like 10 minutes, maybe less. So so drinkable.
