“a stout of great contention”
We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

Large bottle shared with Arve_Christian. Pours black with a beige head. Almost intense aroma of Creme Brulee. Liquid dessert. Sweet, but damn nice. Backlog from opening night at Schouskjelleren .

Smells just like the Essencespecilisten store. WTF!? Huge vanillin! Hugely sweet taste. Cloying mouth. Terrible!

Bottle. A- Vanilla extract, french vanilla ice cream, creme brulee, cheesecake, heaven. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Sweet, strong vanilla, subtle bitterness, caramel, burnt sugar, cream. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet bitter finish. O- This smells like heaven. Seriously, best smelling beer ever. Dessert in a cup. I’d give it an 11 on aroma if I could. Taste is very very sweet. 6-8 oz would be perfect, more than that is tough to get through. Overall, this was amazing. Can’t wait to try more from the Blackwater series.
