Saint Petersburg is a fabulously full bodied chocolatey, malt flavours with coffee finish combine to produce a great Imperial Stout.

Cask at Manchester CAMRA fest 2019. Frothy off white head stayed on a dark brown still body. Chocolate, demerara & malt aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth & slick.on the palate. Malt, lactose, berries, brown sugar & chocolate tastes with a bitter tangy finish. Excellent!

Cask at Hogshead, Wolverhampton Pours a very dark reddish brown with a light cream head. There is an aroma of musty attics when first poured, before coffe and some alcohol kick in. The taste is bitter sweet with brown sugar and chocolate. Finish is smoky with alcoholic strength making its presence known at the back of the mouth. Excellent beer – fully deserving of it’s imperial name, but not overdoing it.

Thuis uit een flesje. Mooie bijna zwarte kleur, beige schuim. Lekker aroma. Smaak is ook uitstekend, vol, redelijke bitterheid en licht verbrande toast. Hoewel een IRS toch niet te zwaar, mede door het percentage van 7,4%.

T: roasted tones, dry cocoa powder, liquorice, dry on the palate, bit toffee but not sweet feeling, taste is great, full body and lower carbonation, very nice, fully enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks in Brussels.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear deep ruby pour, one finger frothy beige head, medium retention. Decent lacing. Nose is nicely hopped with a touch of roasted malts. Nice, but nothing like an imperial stout. Medium body. Soft to medium carbonation, fizzy and lively. Roasty bitter taste and aroma. Roasted malts with a hint of licorice. Herbal liquor. Peppery. Well hopped - definitely not an imperial stout here. Grassy citrus notes, slightly dusty. Finishes dry and moderately bitter. Overall, nice beer. Missed style for sure, this one tastes more like a black IPA, and a solid one at that. Good one.

R.I.S.? Not really... But as black IPA it's very nice beer.
