Saint Petersburg is a fabulously full bodied chocolatey, malt flavours with coffee finish combine to produce a great Imperial Stout.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma media grana cappuccino media persistenza, colore marrone/nero, al naso caffè liquirizia, in bocca è cremosa caffè vaniglia, carbonatazione piatta, oily, corpo rotondo, amaro deciso lungo nel finale. Non mi ha entusiasmato. Da riprovare 12.01.18 @ Ministarstvo Nis

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Shared with Anke!
Pours cloudy black with a foamy, beige head that leaves some lacing. The aroma contains dark chocolate, fruity hops, roasted malt, yeast, some dark fruits & smoke, and strangely something unclean, like wet cloth. It tastes light chocolatey/malty sweet and light to medium roasted bitter; hoppy, toasty finish, faint touch of alcohol. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Good, but in the field of Imperial Stouts, I don't think I'll remember this one.

Bottle shared with Višnja 666 and Marko. Thanks! Very dark with an orange tint. Roasty, alcohol, wood, figs. Dry and strong. Smooth texture, moderate carbonation, medium body, very dry finish. Good, but not impressive.

Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Cherry Hinton Road. Dark brown, slightly translucent with a ring of tan head. Aroma is of liquorice, weak coffee, plums, with a hint of cocoa beans. Salty, smoky taste with yeast extract, espresso, bitter chocolate. Very bitter finish. Nicely carbonated. Unfortunately it’s got a heavily astringent aftertaste with horehound and BlackJack chewing gum. Interesting stuff.

Thanks v&h!! Almost black cola body, tan head. Dry, a bit stale malty aroma, vague coffee. Taste... Vague sorachi, very light roast, tiny alcohol. Oof. Expected WAY more. This batch doesn’t work... Or somehow just this bottle, bb 9.3.2018. But this is meh.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - A good strong stout. Lot’s and lots of malt flavour and a good kick of alcohol. Not many other flavours, but a good "everyday" imperial stout (if there is such a thing). Would buy again.

Smell of licorice, tar, cognac. Cola colour, high brown head. Aroma of ash, tar, roasted malt, some smoke. Medium bitter. Lively carbon, soft palate. A regular stout, not so much imperial in it.
