Bottle. Pours black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is nice roasted malts with coffee and peat, as well as oak barrels, leather, cocoa and dark fruits. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet burned malts with peat, leather and coffee, as well as oak, dark fruits and cocoa. Sweet dark fruits and tobacco finish.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Medium carbonation. Aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate, also some smoke. Medium body. Light sweet, medium bitter hoppy finish. More hoppy than malty. Decent.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelrötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner cremigen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade. Geschmack stark nach Kaffee, Röstmalzig, bittere Schokolade.

From backlog. Pours a jet black color with a medium beige head. Smoke, nuts and chocolate in the nose. The flavor is big sweet glue like nutty malts. Roast.

In this age of high abv’s, a 7.4% IRS isn’t going to cut the mustard. Complex coffee and chocolate aroma, some molasses, didn’t get much peat though. Smooth full mouthfeel, flavor is mostly the same as the aroma with more of a licorice presence. Nice soft finish, but lacking in complexity and frankly the alcohol burn.

Almost black with a thin tan head. Nice roasted aroma, fruity and woody. Flavour is roasted with well balanced dry bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy.
