Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours bright gold with a slight white head. Aroma is mild citrus. Med body, not quite. Flavor is bitter citrus. Not much malt support. The hop actually burns a bit. Grapefruit zest is a nice thing. Actually that’s likely the "burn".

bottle. still unsure on this IPA. Went in thinking "grapefruit & IPA is my favorite combo". The nose was more prunes, and the taste mild. Not bad at all, just different

I’ve had some a great grapefruit IPA. This isn’t one. I feel I should put as much effort into this review as they did in this beer: a mediocre IPA that tastes like someone poured some grapefruit juice into it.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. Messy lacing sticks around the glass.
The smell starts off with the sweet grapefruit pulpiness. Light sticky tones of lemon and freshly cut grass rub into the blend.
The taste starts off bitter bringing in a rind-like quality from the grapefruit. It gradually gets sweet and combines with the bitter nicely. A sticky grapefruit aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the bitterness to take the lead on the harshness.
Overall, I had come into this beer with low expectations, and it turned out way better than I had thought. A Magic Hat beer that I could have again.

12oz bottle pours with a crystal clear deep gold body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up earthy minerals, mild kool aid citrus and then grapefruit gummy bears. The taste however has a pleasing punch of bitter citrus hops rolling into candied grapefruit. It has nice hop bitterness but rather than being juicy too it’s more fruit hard candy like. Toward the finish it picks up a mild yet welcome earthy tea sensation. Interesting. I wouldn’t turn down a free one of these but would likely go after something different if I was paying.

Bottle from Harvest Market. Fairly clear deep yellow color with a decent sized bubbly white head that shows moderate retention. bitter lemony grapefruit with hints of mineral on the nose balanced by a light bready maltiness. Light earthy spicy hop? flavors followed by a huge citrus bitter pithy flavor that builds and lingers long after each sip. Light sweet bready maltiness barely balances the bitter. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Not horrible.

People crapping on this one left and right in the reviews, but I think it could hang right alongside Grapefruit Sculpin, and the fanboys go wild for that. Hazy orange body. Thin, glass lacing, creamy white head. Mellow, juicy pink grapefruit aroma. A little big and artificial. but kind of nails it nonetheless. Solid offering surprisingly.

Pours clear gold into a shaker.White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Hay, toffee and mild citrus aromas. Medium bodied with bubblegum upfront turning to sweet grapefruit before the lasting caramel and pith finish.

On tap at Burger Bar Mandalay Bay. Pours a clear yellow gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong citrus and grain. Medium mouth, light grapefruit, orange peel, light bitterness, good.

Draft at their launch party in Fort Lauderdale. Very grapefruity, med bitter, sweet, pale slightly sticky. Decent balance. I like it, mostly because I like grapefruit. Make a beer that tastes a bit like Ting and I’m good to go.
