To a relaxed end of the day in the beer garden, the Hofbräu Schwarze Weisse is like the traditional decorative costume jewelry (‘Charivari’) adorning a pair of lederhosen. Gently refreshing with a velvety-soft finish. The amber dark color, the creamy head and a fine malty bouquet will delight seasoned grown men and everyone else who prefer a wheat beer with a strong character.

Head: medium sized, off-white, creamy. Colour: mahagony, hazy.
Aroma: strong fruit/banana, some spice/cloves and just a bit of wheat sourness. Taste: again strong banana, sweetish, some cloves and just a bit of wheat, leading to a slightly spicy and bitter finish. Body is thin to medium. A sweeter and a bit more full-bodied versions of the standard weisse.

50 cl bottle @ Gastropub, Praha, BBE 08.11.2013
Aroma has metal, spices and yeasty notes. Flavour is spicy with yeast, metal and roasted malt. A ’kotikalja’-like feeling here. Nothing much.

500ml bottle. Hazy dark brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, off-white head. Dark wheat malty aroma, yeasty overtones. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, minimally spicy yeasty overtones, prickling carbonation gives way for a slightly creamy palate.

Bottle at home ... dark copper ... thin tan lacing ... sweet banana toffee malts ... light clove nose ... over fizzy ... little metalic bitterness ... soft malts ... lightest banana ... fizz is destroying the flavour
