Back in 2021.
Het was in 2012, ter gelegenheid van de 150ste verjaardag van de brouwerij, dat de Chimay 150 voor het eerst werd gebrouwen, in een beperkte oplage (150.000 flessen). Inmiddels opgenomen in het vaste assortiment van de brouwerij.
Chimay 150 is een sterk, verfijnd en verfrissend blond bier met een evenwichtige smaak, een bloemig aroma en aroma's van gedroogd fruit en specerijen. Het heeft een alcoholpercentage van 10%. Het wordt geproduceerd met een mengsel van twee hopsoorten, Saaz en Hallertau Mittelfrüh: twee hopsoorten die bekend staan om hun grote kwaliteiten en finesse. De unieke smaak is ook het resultaat van een geheime specerij die aan het recept werd toegevoegd.

A golden, quite murky beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has great fruitness and nice flowers, perry, even perfume, camomille, lavender, light spicyness. Taste has definedly more spicyness, fruitness and flowers, fruitness has unspecified fresh and dried fruits, perry. Medium bodied, high carbonation. This is a great beer, I like strong flowers and spicyness, which are nicely balanced to overal flavours.

0.33 l bottle at Valhalla Craft Beer Bar, Zagreb. Shared with Kermis. Unclear pale golden, medium off-white head. Huge floral nose, chamomile, lemony, herbal, nettles, maybe mint, phenolic. Quite harsh, strong, medium body, moderate carbonation, heavy, spicy. A bit unrefined but somehow interesting.

Shared thanks to Hrabren. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of herbs, green weeds, floral notes, nettles and yeast. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Above medium bodied with light carbonation.

No longer lazy Sunday THT. Unclear golden with white head. Grainy and chewy malts, bit of marzipan, some plant leaf, salvie (salie). Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carb.

Bottle shared. Bit hazy light golden with white head. Soapy coriander, sweet malts, light yeasty, light alcohol, marzipan, flowery. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. A bit too much coriander and other spices for me.

Bière 75 cl ramenée à un anniversaire par ma famille. Le premier verre est limpide mais les suivants sont troubles. Blonde dorée au nez bien levuré, bouche forte et alcooleuse, une triple réussie bien que je ne sois plus fan de ce genre, elle est pas mal. (M)

Rich and deep and boozy as hell. Notes of candi sugar, honey, clove, straw, and apple, with a floral bitterness on the back end and a wickedly warm finish. Good, but the alcohol heat is kicking.

Bottle consumed at home Sunday 26th September 2021, listening to Way Out West - Tuesday Maybe and cooking Gnocchi with Cherry Tomatoes, Feta, Chorizo and King Prawn. Pours hazy gold with a mid sized white foamy head. Nice aroma, a little yeasty and quite floral. Nice mouthfeel, a little creamy and soft. Yeasty, spice, some light fruity notes, drinking ridiculously easy for the abv, unmistakably a Chimay.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A two-finger thick white head leaving rich crocheted lacing on the glass. Cloudy golden body. Floral aromas, with support of Belgian yeast fruitiness. Well blended taste of herbs, spices, yeasty fruits, peaches, and oily hops. Solid bittersweet finish sustained by warming, but integrated, alcohol. Good sipper on a Saturday eve. (Tromsø 25.09.2021).
