Back in 2021.

75CL bottle, Cellar find since i forgot i still had it, light golden beer with a small head, aroma sweetness, grain, yeast, fruit. Taste is bittersweet, fruit, yeast, , quite fizzy, quite some alcohol, dont know how much % was added in these 3 years.... nice enough.

750ml bottle. Hazy, bright orangey, golden colour with average, thick, frothy, faily lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, notes of apricot, a touch of mirabelle, peach, some yeasty and herbal spiciness. Taste is quite similar, smooth palate, well hidden alcohol.

Luxury ale of limited edition (100,000 bottles, if I’m not mistaken) for the 150th anniversary of the largest Belgian trappist brewery. Off-white, irregular head on a cloudy golden blonde robe. Nice fruity and herbal aroma with citrus peel, cinnamon, molasses, raisins, yeast, pear, candi syrup, pineapple. Soft and complex fruitiness in onset, well-rounded and supple with caramelly and bready, mellow, mouth-filling maltiness, yeasty spicy touch, medium long finish, very well-balanced. Another great trappist which undoubtedly ages quite well, too bad I didn’t buy more bottles.

750mL bottle, pours a dirty mahogany with a medium off-white head. Aroma is complex, with lots of Belgian yeast, toffee, and some dark fruits. Flavour is complex, with loads of raisins, toffee and complex Belgian yeast. Extremely drinkable despite the lively carbonation. Wonderful stuff.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Chimay 150 (Green) on 07 Aug 2025 at 15:44 - Score: Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.

A 0.75l corked bottle. The cork says 12995. Assuming that could be the bottle number? Have been holding on to this for quite some time so looking forward to this. Starts really nice with a light cloudy orange golden body that like all other Chimay beers is absolutely loaded with millions of tiny particles floating about. All this under a big really good looking super lacing white head. The nose is classic Belgian. Lots of fruity elements with that unique yeast and a strong and powerful alcohol theme all the way. It also has a almost savory or even salty thing here also and herbs also comes rushing to the nose after leaving it in the glass for a while. It has really lots of aroma THIS. Really nice. It's as expected quite lively on the carbonation this and it feels oily in the mouth. Yeas, classic flavors all the way. It's sharp and it really has the alcohol punch you want, but it still manages to not be disturbing. Loaded with Belgian yeast it's quite floral in the taste as well. I get red ripe apples with a good sweetness to it combined with her hints if clementine. It's leaving a lingering alcohol warmth prickling down the throat. A really tasty one, and I'm a bit surprised how fast that bottle went away. Scary lightdrinkable for its strength. 03.01.2014

Bottle. Nose is yeast, cloves, banana, some spice, light herbal notes. Complex but over dominated by the yeast. Taste is cloves, banana, brown sugar, leading to honey, orange light spice and a light peppery note in the dry corrianderish finish The mouthfeel is fine but the alcohol a little too pronounced. It’s a very nice beer but a little underwhelming for such an important anniversary.

Unclear golden color with a white head. Malty, mild yeast, some spices and fruity aroma. Medium + body. Slight sweet and a moderate bitterness. Ok carbonation. Nice fresh ale. Malty, fruity, some spices and some yeast. Tasty sipper.
