Belgian-Style Imperial Wheat Ale

This sweet and full-bodied white beer packs a serious punch with the taste of spices, malt, fruit and yeast.
Every sip is a memorable moment, like the historic day when French explorers met with the First Nations people who came out to greet the Don de Dieu, the ship carrying Samuel de Champlain.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with big white head. Aroma of banana and clove with a metallic hint. Medium body with modest fine bright carbonation. Good complex taste. Toffee malt backbone. Some nice bitterness in finish. Peppery spice. Some alcohol apparently towards finish. Very good.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Clove, green apple, banana and coriander all present on the nose. Palate is similar with some lingering honey mid-palate that leans sweet. Coriander, nutmeg towards the finish with a long lingering spicy dry note that fades away. It's fun to rate some of the classic Belgian beers I never got around to rating. Solid one!

Bottle. Cloudy amber pour with a big foamy white head that has good retention. The aroma is on the mild side with mixed spices, and Belgian yeasts. The taste showcases cardamon, banana and yeasts. The palate is creamy, full and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long with lingering semi-bitter mango. Overall: Decent:

341 ml bottle poured in to a Trappist glass. Slightly hazy golden amber colour with a lasting white head. Sweet aroma with green apples, strawberry jam, yeasts, a slightly toasted note and caramel malts. Taste is sweet. Full bodied. Sweet and fruity finish. Nice textbook Tripel.
